Licorice root is used in about equal frequency for love work and for binding rituals. Although the candy takes its name, Licorice Root doesn't have the same aroma as the candy is usually made with other botanical ingredients (namely Anise). Especially good for Do As I Say candle work, but it is usually good to grind or avoid the bigger pieces before dressing a candle with Licorice Root.
